So, what’s it going to be in 2015?

So, what’s it going to be in 2015?

Don’t let next year be the same as last.

Even if last year was great, it was last year. It’s over, next year, by definition, won’t be the same–even if you wanted it to. But I don’t want it to. I actually can’t wait for 2015 and am counting the hours for 2014 to be over. It’s been a hard year in many ways. 2015 is wide open right now like that idyllic desert crossroads with all of the signs pointing to all sorts of places. All of those places are not right here. They’re somewhere else, we have to move, to travel, to work, to decide to go there. Then we need to do it with intention and with emotion.

A clear intention and an elevated emotion.

I smile a Mona Lisa smile that my audio book came back with a bunch of needed corrections. It’s a good thing. I need to make it better, I need to work more on it to finish it. The printed book will also take more time than a few minutes before dinner.

2015 is going to take some effort, but it will be effort well worth it, effort with pleasure–is that even work? Effort, struggle, determination, perseverance, passion and patience. That last one is the hardest. The others are all within our control, but patience is, well, I suppose it’s a frame of mind. Live as if the future is already here. Don’t wait until it happens, live today as if it already happened, as if it’s already happening. I can’t wait. Oh, uh, yes I can.

The future is coming. What are you going to do with it?
