What if you could only take 24 photos this weekend?
What if there were a limit on your limitless?
It’s so old school, it sounds like a challenge: imagine a limit on the number of photos you could take. Only 24 photos this weekend? Sounds like a challenge to me. Would you take more care with each shot? Might you aim, focus, and choose not to take it? Wow, not take a photo. How often do you do that?
It’s happens when you clean out your attic. You say to yourself, “Wow, I’m never buying another, well, anything ever again until we get rid of some of this junk.” But of course, you don’t get rid of the junk and you still Buy More Stuff.
With photos, it’s even worse. You can have a practically unlimited attic full. You might never look at them, sort them, or delete them. They just sit there? When will you look at them? Well, the answer is often:
- When your hard drive is full.
- At the end of the year.
- When you suffer a data loss and find these folders on some external drive.
- When you’re about to die.
- When someone else dies.
- When you’re cleaning up computers.
- After a holiday.
Here’s a photo clean-up tip: don’t do any clean up very soon after an event. You’ll save too many photos. Give it some time and you’ll be able to delete more photos. I’d bet there are full articles about how to organize, sort, and delete your photos. Maybe there are classes, weekend workshops, even recovery clinics. It’ll probably be an illness at some point. It’s chronic at least.
Oops, I see my Dropbox has updated the 277 photos. That was just one camera from one person. Four more people with, let’s see, three cameras and four phones. How many photos is that total? I haven’t dared to tally.
