The party don’t start until you arrive, anyway.

Wisdom is everywhere, you just need to be open to letting it arrive.

I used to be a closet Slow Travel person, but now that I’m free, I embrace it.

We’ll get you there in one piece. The party don’t start until you arrive, anyway. Thank you for letting us do the driving. — Greyhound bus driver, LA to SF

In fact, there isn’t a party until you’re there. It’s not that it won’t start, but it doesn’t even exist if you’re not there. Well, sure, it might exist for the others, but not yet for you because you’re not there. It begins for you when you arrive. So don’t worry about arriving on time–be early, be late. I’ll start when you get there.

But you need to get there. Don’t rush it. Let it come. Red lights are for reflection. Long bus rides are for writing. The destination is rarely as good as the journey. Destinations are overrated.

Listen for the wisdom of others. We all have wisdom, some just let it flow more easily and eloquently. It’s out there. Sometimes in comes in the form of an announcement from the bus driver. Other times it might be a sign in a window. A comment from a sales clerk. A whisper from a stranger.

Filter, deflect, take it in. It’s up to you. But it’s out there if you need some.
