Work: Upstream with a Paddle
- Work: Upstream with a Paddle
- Pivot: Turn Your Ship Around
- Flow: Downstream with a Paddle
Is it just me or does it seem like we’re only going against the current?
No matter how hard you paddle, it seems like it’s never going to end. Oh wait a minute, spoiler alert: it will never end.
If you’re fighting the current, it’s going to be a long haul. You’ll paddle and paddle, you’ll enlist others to join you in your fervent battle, you’ll add outboard motors and maybe even a sail, but you’re still heading upstream.
When no one is supporting you, you’re not sure anyone even thinks you’re doing the right thing, even your team falls to the wayside, are you still willing to go forward?
Does it feel like you’re going it alone? Not only upstream, but your crew has abandoned you? Everything and everyone is against you. You have a paddle, you know where you’re going, but, at times, you are pretty sure you’re never going to get there.
You’re giving it your best, but it’s just so much work. It can’t continue like this. You–no one–has the energy to keep it up.
What to do? You need to turn your ship around.
