When you look back and say, “It all started on that day.”

When you look back and say, “It all started on that day.”

It’s not action. It’s not fireworks. Not tears or summits or triumph.

It’s kind of small. It’s usually inconsequential. It’s a thing we do Every Single Day … but we usually don’t notice.

Do you want the chocolate or the vanilla?

See? There was one and I just slipped it in there.

It’s not books or courses. Not weekend workshops and degrees. Letters behind your name. A war chest of ammunition. Soldiers at your side.

It’s not that grandiose.

Yet, it’s none of those things and bigger than all of those things combined.

At the time, it might not seem like much. Or maybe it does. Either way.

But on that day, whenever you choose to make that day The Day, you know.

You can still call out the troops. You can have a party, rent a back room at a restaurant even. Mariachi band. Whatever you like.

But it’s still not the important part.

The important part is one tiny little word. Three syllables that change lives, save lives. Take lives from surviving to thriving.

The word? The three syllables?

Careful. It’s potentially life-changing. In fact, that’s the rub. It is “life-changing” if that’s what you decide. Because that’s part of the word. The word is decision.

The verb is to decide.

When you make a decision to change you have taken the first step. Without that first step, you are not yet on your way. But with that first step, you are unstoppable because you have ignited the fire, started the journey, vowed to keep going, and it all came down to that one thing you did: you decided. You made the decision.

Simple? Absolutely.

Easy? It’s as difficult or easy as you choose to make it.
