Become a Different Person … For a Weekend

Would you like to change your personality? Forever? Or just for a weekend?

Are you a country bumpkin hiding in a city dweller body? Or maybe a poet disguised as an accountant? Maybe you’d really just like to wear hats more often, but where you are just doesn’t seem like the place.

If you’re on a journey to changing your self, your personality, how far are you along? Is the road too far? The voyage never ending? What if you just changed for a weekend? What if you were to “rent” your new self instead of “buying”? Try it on for size, see how you like it.

Home exchange is your glimpse into your life as another person.

We could have stayed in a hotel this weekend. Although, it’s a three-day holiday weekend so maybe not! We’re only a few hours from home but lifetimes away from our world, our lives, our selves. You wake up in a different bed and, if you arrived when it was dark, you wake up to a completely new view, a new perspective. What if you woke up and decided you were going to be someone else for a weekend? Why not? There’s no one but present company who could call you on it. You’re living the life of another for a weekend, but what if you chose to live the life you wanted to live for the weekend? Who is it that you’ve always wanted to be? Or take it slow, baby steps, wear that hat you never wear but always want to. Read the book that’s been sitting on your shelf but you haven’t read for whatever illogical but powerful reason. Have a cup of something you’ve never tried, eat a new food, say something to your children you’ve never said before. Say yes to something that will make their jaws drop.

Home exchange can be a simple swap of keys or it can be a swapping of spirits. Why not? Let their spirit into yours and leave a bit of yourself back home. If you’d rather not become a part of them, become a part of someone else. Or maybe just become a part of yourself that no one knows. No one but you. I don’t think exchange of spirit is a requirement at homeexchange.com.

As with most things in life, what you get out is what you put in. What will you put into your home exchange weekend? Is a swap of keys and important phone numbers or a swap of something greater? It’s just a choice and the choice is yours.
