People Are Good
This week has been my first week since I stopped my part-time, in-person, out-of-my-house job that I’ve had for the past year. That’s my summary of the week: people are good.
I miss it.
Well, I miss the people.
Wanna know one thing I feel this week?
Lonely.
Wanna know some more?
- Less confident
- Less energetic
- More worried
- Doubting
- Unclear
- Scared
- Wondering
- Alone
- Solitary
- Waiting
- Bored
- Expected
- Free (too much so!)
- Unfocused
- Not as many fresh ideas
- Fatigue
- Less hopeful
Wow, I just banged those out. Took me all of a minute.
There must be some positive aspects post-job, right? Sure, there must be. Uh, no, really.
It’s really the tasks there I didn’t appreciate. The actual job of the job.
But the people? The interactions? The unexpected discussions, the laughter, the joking, the getting-to-know you a bit part, the bad news, the good news, the stories, the unexpected interactions with other people.
There you have it: the unexpected interactions with other people.
That’s what I miss.
I have to find a replacement.
