What’s the difference between this and Carpe Diem?
I’m still not sure. I think this is about living in the moment whereas Carpe Diem is about living for the moment. Is that a difference? Maybe. Thich Nhat Hanh is a guru, so I’ll listen up.
Aware, awake, acknowledge.
Being aware of the moment that you’re in. Not the one before and not the one after.
Listening, breathing, recognizing your berating in, your breathing out, meditation. It’s not exactly a How To book, in fact, I could use a bit more of the how to, but it was a good book to listen to, especially nice on a holiday Friday morning driving to Tahoe. Now there’s snow in the trees, freshly fallen last night. I’ll enjoy this day and won’t worry about whether if it will snow again today or tomorrow. It snowed yesterday and it’s a winter wonderland. Is that being mindful? I’m not sure.
One thing he said that I could associate with was to not spend time and energy worrying about the future as there’s little you can do about much of it. So don’t spend the energy on the future or even the past, but spend it on today, the present.
I did meditation for a month a while back and it was all positive. Can’t remember why I stopped. Need to start again. No, I will.
