Book is written and launched. Now we can really get started.
You may have thought the “hard part” was over.
Not so fast, cupcake!
Writing a book takes:
- Time
- Solitude
- Research
- Editing
- Rewriting
- Finishing
But once it’s dong and in the world, the fun part begins: marketing and selling.
Maybe it’s just me, but I actually really enjoy this part. In fact, this part is the “easy” part or at least the less creative part.
I’m a morning person and I like to “create” or “output” in the mornings and leave the afternoons for “consuming” and “input.” I give and make and create in the morning and take in and learn and absorb in the afternoon. Some call it refilling the creative well.
That’s what marketing is for me. It’s fun, it’s numbers, it’s strategies and tactics. It’s seeing what works and doing more of that. Trying out new things and learning to drop what doesn’t.
My book came out last week, I had a nice big splash of media to launch it, but now is the “hard” part: keeping sales going with some consistency. How do I do that?
Stay tuned.
