Prepare to Win
You can prepare. Or you can prepare to win.
My mentor told me that she was trying to quote from a source she couldn’t remember exactly, but it went something like,
“Talent will give you a taste of success but a higher level of success comes through process.”

I’m seeing this right now with Spark Campfire where I’m guiding others through writing books. I am what they call a “pantser” in that I write and create by the seat of my pants. I don’t do too much plotting although what I’m learning is that I need to plot an outline and structure in order to teach others.
Prepare to Win
Those three words hit me deeply. In the words of my mentor, you’re not just preparing for a speech, your preparing to win the competition. You’re not just planning I’m getting by, you’re planning on rocking the stage.
If we study for an average grade for the test, there are always variables that will move the bar up or down a little bit. By preparing to win, we are aiming high from the get-go.
In the writing world, there are several new books about mindset. I think this is also a mindset.
It’s probably the modest side of me, but the word “win” brings out the idea of competition whereas I am much more someone of cooperation. That said, if you watch my speech from last Friday night, the caveman in me, the gut feeling in
