Do authors need a Facebook fan group?

Do authors need a Facebook fan group?

I’m going to build one. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Facebook groups are just so easy. But are they effective?

Is email still the most effective way to stay in touch with a group of people? As in, a mailing list?

I personally like Facebook and especially the groups. When they’re active, they can be very helpful. I figure we have to cover as many bases as we see efficiently and effectively helping our brand and the Facebook Author Group seems like a good way to me.

For now, I’m calling it a “Book Launch Team” because I’m honestly too modest to project that I have fans. So for the time being, it’s going to be all about helping to promote my upcoming books and reaping the unheard of benefits that come along with joining such a distinguished, exclusive, professional group of rock stars.

Want to be in the first wave of overwhelming support? Come on over and join me at the:

Bradley Thomas Charbonneau Book Launch Team Facebook Group

I’m very much into acronyms and I like that “BLT” is in there and I even had one for lunch today to celebrate the opening of the group.

Come join me and you’ll soon be overwhelmed with the awesome display of, well, something.
