First Draft … Bookstore & Bar

A simple idea executed excellently.
Writing and beer? Sign me up.
- Books & brews? When does it open?
- Literary libations on tap.
- Place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. Think they’re onto something?
Quick, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear, “First draft?”
It’s the first version or edit of a book or manuscript, is it not? It didn’t hit me until my friend hit me over the head with it.
“Oh, whoa, I get it now! First draft of a book and first draft of beer.”
First from the tap or from imagination? Wait, how integrated are those two?
Creative naming professional, wordsmith and lover of clever marketing that I am, I didn’t get it right away. Which, of course, made me appreciate it even more. I like when people are more clever than I am (it happens a LOT).
A beautifully laid-out bar, an open space for readings and gatherings. A bookstore with fun books, gift books, gifts not to mention a bookstore with, you know, actual books. Did I mention there was a bar with beer on tap?
The biggest compliment I can give is: I wish I had one of these in my neighborhood. Hmm, reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants in the world (Stilo Campo).
A simpleΒ idea executed excellently. That’s pretty much all you need. Stop by, have a brew, browse the books and get busy on that first draft with your … first draft.
