Looking to rent office space? Don’t bother paying for more Internet access if you have an Xfinity hotspot nearby.

If you’re a Comcast / Xfinity customer, there’s a good chance you have free Internet access if you’re near an Xfinity Hotspot. A savvy San Francisco managed IT company colleague told me one day about the Internet access he was using while I was trying to get on the WiFi from the restaurant we were in. He asked what cable provider I had at home. I had Comcast. He said that I was all set–then he showed me how to log in. I’ve had free Internet access in San Francisco ever since.

Free WiFi in many major cities if you’re a Comcast customer. Who knew!?

I don’t know if many people know about this. I’m a pretty tech savvy San Francisco guy and I sure didn’t know. I was still hoping for someone to provide city-wide free WiFi … have they done that yet?

Oh who cares, we have Xfinity WiFi. Cool. Works for me. Well, when I’m in range.
