Whatever you do, don’t bring your guitar to the waterfall.

Whatever you do, don’t bring your guitar to the waterfall.

You can whine about how “it’s not like home” or you can roll with it.

If everything were like home, there would be no reason to ever leave. Thankfully, nothing is exactly like home.

That’s why we travel.

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” – Anonymous

What’s your travel “thing”?

What do you collect while on the road? Shells at the beach? Beer bottle caps? Photos of reflections in water? Whatever it is, keep at it, compare and contrast and make a game of it. It gives you something to do and a goal or a mission. It’s fun for the kids, too.

I like signs. Their meaning (or hidden meaning) or grievous spelling mistakes, maybe funny or weird or just don’t make any sense to anyone — except maybe the person who created it. Maybe.

Make an effort to collect something on your travels and try to make a tradition of it. Over time, you can look back at the stream or line that you have followed and how it changed over the years.

Plus, it’s just plain weird sometimes!
