Bribery, Teenagers, and Sketching Out a Future

Last school exam yesterday. Now what?

DISCLAIMER: It’s all in Dutch, it’s quite personal, but I’ll get you the gist of it.

We’re in the middle of the Corona Virus Pandemic and things are, well, surreal.

My 16-year-old son just finished the school year and I’m wondering what he’s wondering about what’s next.

With pure bribery (I paid him €2 per video watched and summarized) and gentle conversation, he watched 12 videos from 12 different colleges here in The Netherlands. I asked him to write 3 positive things and 3 negative things–as related to him–about each school.

As a bonus, he summarized his top 3 in a video at the end.

So that’s what I was doing today.
