The List. Newsletter (NL). The Mailing List. Seriously? Is this still a thing?
I pride myself on not really paying attention to my email. What’s in there anyway? Spam, sales, links to stuff online. Who still uses email?
OK, apparently, lots of people.
It turns out that I’m a minority, although a growing minority, who doesn’t still use email as a primary means of communication.
So what do you do with The List?
As a (formerly) modest author, I was struggling with how this whole Mailing List thing works–and why it should.
But then recently, I got it.
Think of someone you admire, even a star who you’d like to hear more about. But then imagine that star as a Regular Person who you might have a conversation with.
Once you got over your Fan Boy or Fan Girl dopey questions, what might you really want to know?
That’s just it.
The power is in the connection. How do people connect? With email.
There you have it.
