Creatives Are The New Athletes

Creatives Are The New Athletes

We, too, need to stay in shape.

Well, that didn’t work out as I thought it would.

It’s September 1, 2021.

On November 1, 2012, I started writing every single day for 30 days. I was taking part in John Muldoon’s Monthly Experiment to see if I could start writing. Because I hadn’t been writing ANY days in a row. I started, I continued, it worked.

I wrote successfully for 30 days. Then I kept going.

Finally, on the day my mom passed away on June 12, 2020, I stopped. 7+ years, 2,808 days in a row of writing.

I figured I was “in shape” enough to the point where I could stop and my life would go on as it had been going on.

I wasn’t.

It didn’t.

Slowly, and unfortunately, surely, things started to silently fall apart.

It’s more than a year later now that I stopped my daily habit of creating.

It’s time to start again.

Because I’ve learned I can’t go without it.

Well, I can.

But it hasn’t gone well.

The other day, after weeks of not meditating, I meditated and a single word came to me: frequency.

It’s the answer to the questions:

  1. What to do?
  2. How often to do it?

Frequency.

It’s the title of my next series of books.
