What does “The Blank Page” mean to you?

It hasn’t always been this way, but now it’s an invitation to the imagination.

It hit me hard this morning as I opened up StoryShop and there was a blank page for a new chapter. I did something I would have only have dreamed of some years ago: I smiled.

I even laughed a little.

A small, quiet laugh. Like I knew a secret. What I was saying in my mind was:

  1. Here we go!
  2. This is going to be fun!
  3. Charlie, where are we headed today?

If you’re not quite at the point of loving the blank page, here’s a tip: Write Every Day For 10 Days.

There you go. That’s all you need. Just get started.

It’ll get easier as you practice. As you warm up. As you let your imagination get the best of you.
