When are you a kid in a candy store?

When are you a kid in a candy store?

I recently bought a macro lens for my iPhone. It’s more fun than a Lamborghini.

I know, I know. This is probably one of those “make-up draft” posts, right? I’m labeling it Spring Cleaning.

When are you a kid? When do your eyes light up? When does time fly?

Here’s a way to find out in case you’re struggling:

Free time? What would you do?

Let’s say a friend flaked on your lunch. You have two “freebie” hours. You have some time that you were expecting to have gobbled up, but you now have it back. It wasn’t yours, now it’s yours.

  1. Don’t let anyone know.
  2. Take the time to think about it.
  3. Don’t do something rational.
  4. Allow yourself to do what makes you happy.

If #4 is a struggle, Force yourself to do what makes you happy. This might be related to #3 for those of you who think, “Oh goodie, I can catch up on my taxes.” Sure, if you need to catch up on your taxes, I get it. But take this time as if it came from the sky, as if it’s extra time, bonus time. Time that you wouldn’t normally have. Pretend it’s hours #25 and #26 in the day–they don’t really exist.

So, now that we’ve got that out of the way. What would you do?
