Newsflash: father on the front page a magazine for … moms!

Check it out on Mamalode: Of Fathers And Sons: I Don’t Want My Memories Of Us To Fade

How can we better remember the times we want to remember with our kids? What if we just took a few notes when we thought there was something worth writing down?

Of Fathers And Sons: I Don’t Want My Memories Of Us To Fade

I scribbled down a few notes on a paper towel in hopes of trying to remember just the few seconds my son and I shared together. It seemed like it was no big deal–but isn’t it that way with the best of memories?

It’s not the special trips that are always memorable.

It’s not necessarily the big trips, the “special” vacations that are logged in the highlight reel of life. It’s more often than not the unexpected, the simple occasions and those that will slip through our memory if we don’t jot down just a few reminders of what happened.

I did just that with my son a few years ago and thanks to those notes, my story is forever engrained in my memory. Maybe someday he will read it again and it will either bloom out of his own memory or trigger even another memory that he too can cherish.

DISCLAIMER: this was written by a father who loves his son more than he knows how to express. The poor father gets as sappy as a maple tree in fall and lets it all flow out of him, cheesy loving fatherly heartfelt love and all.

Please share it with friends and family and with those you don’t want to forget. I hope you enjoy http://mamalode.com/story/detail/of-fathers-and-sons-i-dont-want-my-memories-of-us-to-fade.
