Is preparing for the workshop as good as going to the workshop?

I’ve done my homework, I’ve prepared, I’m ready to go. Do I need to go?

I know it already!
What do you get from the actual workshop itself when you’ve done all the book study? What if you’ve even done the exercises, the tests, the written exams? Do you still need to go?
Yes, in a word, because you don’t know what it’s going to be. If you knew, you wouldn’t need to go, but you should still go anyway to see that you know it all and when you find out that you didn’t really know it all after all, you learned something.
Ohh, gotta run!
